Undercarriage components usually account for the largest share of a machine running cost. Replacing them at the right moment keeps track tension correct and protects the final drives.
Check roller flange height and idler wear at every service interval. Once the flange wears down to the limit marked in the service manual, or the track chain starts riding on the sprocket tooth root, the components should be replaced as a set.
